The Ground Up
Lateral Works is a one-person operation designing and manufacturing precision parts and accessories for PRS rifle competition — built by a shooter who got tired of settling.
Frustration Is the Best Design Brief
Every product at Lateral Works started the same way: I needed something that didn’t exist, or existed but wasn’t good enough. Off-the-shelf accessories that fit inconsistently. Parts that looked great in photos but failed under field conditions. Gear that was designed by people who’d never actually run a PRS stage.
So I started designing my own. What began as personal solutions to personal problems quickly became a growing library of parts that worked the way competition shooting actually demands — precise, repeatable, and tough enough to handle the grind of a full match season.
Why 3D Printing?
Because it lets me iterate fast, produce small batches without tooling costs, and use materials that are genuinely suited to the job. We’re not talking about the brittle PLA you’d use for a desktop model. Lateral Works parts are printed in high-performance engineering polymers — glass-filled nylon, carbon-fiber composites — materials that are lighter than aluminum and dimensionally stable under load and temperature change.
Every part is designed with tolerances in mind from day one. That means features that actually fit their mating surfaces, threads that engage cleanly, and geometry that doesn’t shift after the first range day.
Small Batch. High Standard.
Lateral Works is intentionally small. Every part that ships has been through my hands. I print it, I inspect it, I test it. If it doesn’t meet spec, it doesn’t go out. That’s not a marketing line — it’s just the reality of running a one-person operation where your name is on every box.

Slop is the enemy of precision. Every dimension has a reason, and every fit is checked before a part ships. We design to thousandths, not to close-enough.
